The most realistic computer graphics. The most beautiful games for the computer. Star Citizen has enough budget to give you the galaxy

Every year the picture quality of desktop games is steadily stepping forward. If not so long ago 3D action games amazed with the absence of a ladder of pixels and smooth lines, today it is difficult to surprise avid gamers even with 4K textures, realistic shadows and incredible sun glare, so similar to real ones. And yet some modern games yet it manages to raise the already high bar of graphics, demonstrating more and more vivid beauty, the highest level of detail and simply amazing animation effects. It is such projects that fully justify the cost of gaming computers, the price tags of which are also steadily growing.

gta v

The fifth part of Grand Theft Auto cannot be called a novelty, because it was presented almost 5 years ago. However, due to official and unofficial mods with support for 4K graphics, it still deserves to be included in the list of games with the highest quality graphics. First of all, it can surprise you with the most realistic picture that allows you to enjoy the beauties of a huge open world. It was realism that became the real hallmark of the game, allowing you to discover something new every day. GTA V on Steam.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

This is already an unconditional hit of the whole decade, which will enter more than one top of the best games. The Witcher 3 received the highest ratings and the most flattering reviews, including for incredible graphics that immerse you in a fantasy world. The elaborate design of the locations of the Northern Kingdom, where the main action of the game takes place, will be set as an example for other developers for a long time to come. Attention to the smallest details of the environment, amazingly realistic nature, character animation - all this is based on the proprietary REDengine 3 game engine, developed by the CD Projekt RED studio itself. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Steam.

Destiny-2

An excellent continuation of the chic multiplayer sci-fi shooter, which also came out on PC. This game does not pretend to be realistic, but given the genre, it does not need it. Destiny 2 impresses with high frame rates, ultra-sharp textures, support for HDR effects and a mesmerizing atmosphere that immerses the player in the depths of space. The ability to choose a first or third person view allows you to enjoy the picture from different angles. Destiny 2 on battle.net.

Assassin's Creed Origins

The tenth game of the series of the same name, the plot of which will take you to Ancient Egypt. Huge open spaces for exploration, many water barriers, pyramids, deserts and incredibly beautiful battles with opponents are waiting for you. Complementing all this is the system of changing the time of day, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of the night. You can explore the locations both on foot, periodically transferring to a boat, or on horseback or even a camel. Fans of action and open-world RPG will certainly be interested in the game. Assassin's Creed Origins on the Ubisoft Store.

Battlefield-1

First-person shooter for PC and consoles that allows you to plunge into the fierce battles of the First World War. You are waiting for battles on the ground and in the air using all the possible equipment of those times, including aircraft, the first tanks and even airships. Impressive locations and a lot of destructible objects will give you maximum freedom of action and the opportunity to independently think over an offensive plan. For complete immersion, the game may offer the option to disable the interface. Battlefield 1 on Origin.

This is an action game dedicated to the events of World War II. The developers decided to try to improve the classics, and they definitely succeeded. Even many special operations familiar from other games here do not look like a well-worn topic that can get bored after 5 minutes. This also applies to the landing in Normandy, with which the game begins. Magnificent detailing of the main characters, the quality of light reflections and shadows, the setting of missions - all this does not allow you to relax for a minute. You seem to become the hero of the film, and this is far from a perky action movie. Call of Duty: WWII on Steam.

Despite the monetization scandal, this game deserves the highest ratings for graphics. This is largely the merit of the Frostbite engine, which provided incredible dynamics of battles. By genre, this is a first-person shooter with the ability to switch to a third-person view. Of course, it's based entirely on the Star Wars universe and is one of the games that blurs the shaky line between the Star Wars movies and game implementation. Fans will especially appreciate the opportunity to play as characters and fighters from the planets of all three eras of the universe. Star Wars Battlefront 2 at Origin.

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition was able to surprise with a large and truly living open world, available for exploration at any time. At maximum graphics settings, the draw distance and clarity of all textures are simply amazing. Lighting, shadows, animations of sparks and fire, the movement of grass and smoke can surprise even the most avid gamers who are demanding on the picture and gameplay in general. Even if you don't really like the Japanese style in RPGs, the new Final Fantasy may well interest you. Final Fantasy XV on Steam.

DOOM

This heir to the legendary series already in 2016 was far ahead of its time, raising the bar for graphics and dynamism to unprecedented heights. DOOM players will embark on a frightening journey into the depths of hell. And everything would be fine, because the motive is painfully familiar, however, the unique visualization of textures, shadows, lighting effects and detailing of terrible monsters make you forget about everything that you knew before. Even for DOOM fans, who have gone through all the previous parts of the game up and down, this re-release seemed like a radically new project, similar to the second wind of the eternal classics. DOOM on Steam.

This arcade car simulator is designed for all fans of classic racing that does not violate the laws of physics. Realism has become the main graphic trump card, and the point is not only in drawing locations and the cars themselves, but also in believable weather animation. When playing Forza Horizon 3, you catch yourself thinking that the screen is something between high-quality video and ultra-sharp computer graphics. It is unlikely that somewhere else it will be possible to drive the best sports cars of our time with the same realism. Among 350 fireballs, everyone can find a model to their liking. Forza Horizon 3 on the Microsoft Store.

Graphics are not the most important thing. In general, the expression is correct, but there is something subtly hypocritical in it, approximately like in the statement “In a girl, one must first of all value intelligence.” Let's be honest: the visual aspect is extremely important, even if you are not a graphic artist ... in general, a staunch connoisseur of graphics. In this article, Gmbox invites you to recall 10 iconic games that literally killed with their incomparable visuals, and here you will find both cult classics and fresh hits.

10. Duke Nukem 3D

Before Duke, all 3D shooters pushed the protagonist into some kind of enclosed space - whether it was a laboratory on a distant planet and hell (Doom), or medieval catacombs (Heretic, Hexen). Duke Nukem 3D was the first to create a very believable - for those times! is a modern metropolis. Shops, movie theaters, skyscrapers, strippers you could throw bucks at, toilet bowls that could be kicked, Duke offered a wealth of possibilities in visually perfect execution. It was even possible to “break” a stripper with your foot - it’s a pity, the option of sprinkling the toilet with dollars was not provided ...

9. Quake

But there was one glaring minus in Duke Nukem 3D: sprite enemies. In a collision at the same level, they still looked tolerable, but when viewed from the top shelf of the model, it was terribly tilted back. Oldfags clearly remember this shameful farce. But against its background, Quake was a real revelation: for the first time in the history of game development - fully three-dimensional mobs made of flesh and blood, and not some kind of robots! Accordingly, dismemberment in honest 3D has become a real work of art: a direct hit from a grenade launcher into an ogre with a chainsaw would not be ashamed to be written by Vereshchagin himself.

8. Crisis

I remember this moment very well in 2007: a friend bought a powerful PC to work with sound, and he didn’t stint on a video card. Yes, “sound work” was going on, but in free time the mini-tower was loaded with Crysis. Seeing the gameplay for the first time, I was sure for a minute and a half that this was a pre-rendered video, until the revelation hit me like thunder: keyboard / mouse manipulations coincide with what is happening on the screen! I am sure that everyone has their own (no less reverent) story of acquaintance with Crysis, and no one will argue: in the modern (post-2000s) history of game development, this is the most important breakthrough in terms of graphics quality.

7. Grand Theft Auto IV

The immortal GTA III could also be at this point: after all, the transition from 2D to 3D is an invaluable achievement. However, here is still GTA IV. In the third part, despite all its achievements, there was a rather primitive graphics - something from the category of early cubism. It seemed that the developers simply moved the camera behind their backs, having not changed anything aesthetically since the 2nd part. At the same time, Grand Theft Auto IV was the first in the history of the game industry to create an absolutely believable metropolis - one that Duke Nukem could only dream of.

6. Arma 3

Do you want to know the main indicator of the highest quality graphics of this Czech franchise? When a variety of TV channels (regardless of the country) urgently need to find a picture of modern military operations, this picture, as a rule, turns out to be a screenshot from Arma 3. Already 5 years have passed, but this ultra-realistic military simulator (the language does not dare to call Arma the banal word “shooter”) until now, not everyone will go to ultra graphic settings. It’s not worth talking about porting to consoles: of course, Arma is not there. They won't pull.

5. The Witcher 3

There are memes about couple of independent slavs - “several independent Slavs”. Memes, I emphasize at once, are flattering, not offensive. Take some mind-blowing screenshot from the third “The Witcher”, and next to it is a mediocre picture, say, from Mass Effect: Andromeda. The inscription says that here, they say, the first is from a couple of independent Slavs, and the second is from a huge studio with a fantastic budget. Of course, by the beginning of work on the third part, CD Projekt had grown 4 times, but this is still not the scale of the Activision - EA - Ubisoft trio. So the graphics in the third "The Witcher" - in any case, the feat of the Poles.

4. Forza Horizon 3

It would seem that making good graphics in a racing simulator is as easy as shelling pears: I ideally balanced the number of objects along the ring so that everything was beautiful and did not slow down, and voila! Everything is ready. But what if there is no “ring” at all? If every wrong turn takes you to the jungle, sandy beaches, waterfalls, suburbs and metropolitan areas? The creators of Forza Horizon 3 have achieved their goal: the world is completely seamless, gigantic and at the same time incredibly beautiful. We take off our hats, like Nikita Sergeevich.

3. Far Cry 5

This Ubisoft franchise has always impressed with the quality of the graphics. No wonder it was bought from the legendary Crytek (Crysis): the Dunia engine, on which Far Cry is assembled, is probably a refinement of the German engine. By the fifth part, Dunya has blossomed in an incredible way: on a good technique with a 4K display, you will think that you really got into the American outback. Squint your eyes. Now squint a little more. Now, almost photorealism. At least in 5-6 years, Ubisoft will definitely reach it. In the meantime, enjoy the reflection of the sky in the 4K lakes of Montana.

2. The Last of Us (original on PS3)

Only one question: how? How could you squeeze such a picture out of an antediluvian PS3, because its maximum resolution is only 720p? However, Naughty Dog was able to do it. HD (not even Full HD!) the picture never fell into squares, did not look like a shameful soap. On the contrary, it was a real visual masterpiece. Apparently, in that distant era, it was not necessary to pay close attention to same-sex love, so the developers concentrated on optimization and image quality. The original The Last of Us became the real swan song of the PlayStation 3, after which it was no longer a pity to send a frankly outdated box to the mezzanine.

1. Horizon: Zero Dawn

Naughty Dog have been honing their skills on Uncharted all their lives, but then out of nowhere, the Guerilla guerrillas appeared. Those, in turn, devoted their entire careers to the gloomy industrial shooter Killzone. And after that - a surprise in the form of Horizon with its four climatic zones and breathtaking landscapes. Nature, which had long conquered the remains of the former greatness of mankind, looked incomparable, and mechanical dinosaurs (especially those that were larger) were amazing. It is a pity that the sequel has not yet been announced, but it must happen. Horizon can't be one game - it's more like a three-part franchise.

Every game developer is trying to improve their product. One of the improvements is to improve the quality of the graphics. Starting in 2014, it became possible to significantly improve the realism of graphics, and already in 2017, you can make a whole list of such products. It is very difficult to single out one game, but there are several projects that can confidently be called leaders in the rating.

Forza Horizon 3

The car simulator was introduced in September 2016. He became the ninth part of the series. Many critics immediately noted the fact that at the time of the release of the product, Forza had the most realistic graphics in the game. This was facilitated by the ForzaTech engine, thanks to which the developer company was able to achieve a very high picture quality.

hallmark The simulator has become a cross-world between platforms. The thing is that the game is available for personal computers running the Windows operating system and for the Xbox game console. The hardware allows gamers who play on personal computers and consoles to compete with each other.

Global critics gave high marks to both versions of Forza Horizon 3. The most authoritative publications, which are GameRankings and Metacritic, said that at the end of 2016 Forza is the game with the most realistic graphics. The car simulator received an average score of 87% and 86 out of 100 from GameRankings and Metacritic, respectively.

Battlefield 1

It was released in the spring of 2016 and for 6 months ranked first in the most realistic graphics. Well-known critics immediately spoke about Battlefield 1 and highly appreciated the shooter.

Like previous versions of the series, this part was created on the basis of the Frostbite engine, which was first used by the development company several years ago. It allows you to achieve a high level of destructibility and high quality graphics. Battlefield 1 took first place in the category "Graphics of the Year" according to the popular web resource "Igromania".

Since the trailer was released, both critics and gamers have erupted in positive reviews. The first video, which showed the gameplay of the game, was released almost at the same time as Call of Duty. However, the DICE product scored five times more positive ratings than the legendary Call of Duty. After that, many experts dubbed Battlefield the "CoD killer".

The product with the most realistic graphics in a game in Russia faced serious criticism. At the introduction of the shooter, it was announced that the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the United States of America, Austria-Hungary, as well as the Ottoman Empire would be present in the game. The reason for the indignation of domestic gamers and critics was the absence of the Russian Empire. In this regard, the Russian community sent a petition to DICE with a request to add the Russian Empire to the list of playable nations. The response from the developers was not long in coming. The company said that both France and the Russian Empire will appear in upcoming additions to the game.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon

The tactical shooter was released in early spring 2017 and immediately became the game with the most realistic graphics on the PC. The announcement took place two years before the official release at the E3 computer games exhibition.

A distinctive feature of the shooter was the open world. Prior to this, no product in the series could boast of such an element. The gamer starts the game as one of the members of a fictional group of fighters from the United States of America. The grouping was formed with the aim of solving certain operations based on the US Army.

After the release of the game, the government of Bolivia issued a statement condemning the developers for portraying their country in the shooter as a country where violence and drug trafficking thrive. Later, the developers issued a response statement saying that Bolivia was chosen because of its beautiful scenery.

Shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon was nominated for Best Game of 2015. But despite the fact that Ghost Recon has some of the most realistic graphics in games, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon was only able to win the Best Shooter nomination.

gta 5

The cult GTA franchise has not pleased its loyal fans for a long time. The fifth part of the series was announced in 2011. Owners of personal computers had to suffer for a very long time, who got the opportunity to enjoy the game only in April 2015. As of 2013, when GTA 5 was released to game consoles, it was called the game with the most realistic graphics in the world.

A distinctive feature of the 3D shooter was the presence of three heroes at once. This was not in any of the previous versions of the famous game. The gamer has the ability to switch between characters at almost any time. There are also missions during which the player can control two players at once.

The game consists of 62 main missions and a large number of side missions. However, the number of main missions is increased by 7, since there are chapters that can be completed in several ways. In addition, GTA 5 has three different endings.

The game received the highest ratings both in Russian-language publications and in foreign ones. For example, Igromania, the most popular Russian web resource dedicated to video games, rated the 3D shooter 10 out of 10, as well as the well-known foreign publication IGN.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

But the leadership of GTA 5 did not last long. In mid-May 2015, the third part of the famous Witcher series was released. Immediately after the release, it became clear that in the "Wild Hunt" you can see the most realistic graphics in a PC game. In early autumn 2016, version 1.3 was released. Real time strategy is available for all popular platforms.

The lead artist stated that CD Projekt RED used a different method during the creation of character models, different from those used in the development of the first game of the famous series. During the work on the Wild Hunt, first the models of the characters of the game were created, on the basis of which the low-level models were formed. They are the ones used in the game. For the image of hair, fabric, shadows and wool, tools from Nvidia were used.

Star Wars: Battlefront

The Star Wars franchise is not only represented by a large number of films. It extends to video games as well. In 2015, a first-person shooter titled Star Wars: Battlefront was released. The game was the third in the series. The shooter was created within two years. Development began in 2006. But in 2008, work on it was frozen until 2013.

Battlefront gameplay consists of battles. The gamer can choose which side to take. He has the option to fight for the rebels in a campaign based on the original trilogy, or play as the army of the Galactic Empire. Star Wars fans have a great opportunity to take part in the most famous battles in the galaxy. One of the advantages of the game is the fact that the gamer is able to control military equipment.

Despite the popularity of the franchise and excellent graphics, the game did not receive high ratings from foreign publications. In Russia, popular gaming resources gave the shooter an 8 out of 10 rating. Only Playground gave Star Wars 5 out of 10.

Fra Cry 5

Another game with great graphics. Its announcement took place in mid-May 2017. The expected release date for the first-person shooter is the end of winter 2018. The development of Ubisoft will bring the graphics in computer games to a new level.

The gamer will control the deputy sheriff. He has to go to the fictional Hope County in order to arrest Sid, who decided to establish control over the entire county. A distinctive feature of the fifth part of the game is the presence of an editor in which you can change the appearance of the main character. You can change not only things, but also the color of the skin, as well as the gender of the character.

The game will feature a large number of gadgets and a wide arsenal of weapons. It includes shotguns, pistols, bows, explosives, and even baseball bats. Also, wild animals tamed by him can help the main character in battle. The campaign of the game can be completed both in single player mode and in multiplayer.

Need for Speed: Payback

In early June, the new NFS was introduced. The official release is scheduled for the end of autumn this year. Critics are already saying that the most realistic graphics in the game will be in the new Need for Speed.

The car simulator will be available on all engines - Frostbite 3. Multiplayer and single player mode are available in Payback. Vehicles will be divided into five categories: drift, race cars, SUVs, runners and drag. For racing, one or another class of car is required. The town of Fortune Valley can be driven by police cars that enter into the pursuit of racers and do not hesitate to break any traffic rules to stop violators.

The protagonists of the game are Tyler Mac and Jesse - three racing drivers who team up in order to challenge the Dom cartel. The cartel has taken control of the city's criminals, corrupt cops and casinos. Three riders will try to make a difference in Fortune Valley.

Outcome

It is difficult to answer which game with the most realistic graphics is currently able to top the rating of the best projects. In recent years, every product has a high image quality. In some cases, it is difficult to distinguish the picture in the game from the movie.

At the moment, the game with the most realistic graphics is Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, released in 2017. However, with a high probability, the car simulator will be moved from the first line of the conditional pedestal in the same year, when the release of the game NFS: Payback takes place. But the legendary car simulator will not last long at the top. Assassin's Creed: Empire is expected to be released in 2017 and will be the best game in the world in terms of "Graphics".

We remembered ten games of all time with the best graphics. Some of them will not impress today, but in their time they were real visual Everests.

Myst (1993)

Released in 1993, Myst is one of the few games of the era to be released on CD. The carrier was jam-packed with stunning landscapes, atmospheric sound, and real video. Incidentally, Myst is still one of the most popular games of all time.

Crisis (2007)

The first part of Crysis is still impressive graphics. Of course, we are talking about the PC version. In 2007, there was no computer capable of running this game at maximum settings. Yes and later long years system performance was measured precisely by the ability to cope with Crysis graphics.

Shenmue (1999)

In a time when most people played on the outdated PlayStation One, Shenmue felt like something from another universe - a game with incredible attention to detail, a grand living city concept and, of course, stunning graphics. Still looks good, even after almost two decades.

BioShock Infinite (2013)

Grandiose not in terms of technical performance, BioShock Infinite is a design masterpiece, a triumph of virtual architecture and a vibrant color palette. Well, the character models (in particular, one particular one) - for the top five.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015)

The stunningly beautiful universe of The Witcher at number three, even after a few years, seems to be a role-playing pinnacle, a visual masterpiece, and indeed a masterpiece, from whichever side you look. And what sunsets and sunrises are here, you instantly want to pack your things and move to a magical kingdom.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (2002)

In 2002, there was no RPG more beautiful than Morrowind. Gorgeous water, pretty mountains, picturesque sky (especially at night), grandiose cities; yes, today it is somewhat outdated, but still full of charm.

Forza Horizon 3 (2016)

Of course, today it is the most beautiful console and computer race. Cute car models, gorgeous and diverse landscapes, special effects worthy of the best Hollywood blockbusters.

Grand Theft Auto V (2013)

Despite the age and generational change (transition from PS3/Xbox 360 to PC/PS4/Xbox One), Grand Theft Auto V still knows how to surprise and delight. The liveliest of any city in an open world game like this, and the attention to detail makes GTA V a true technological work of art.

Final Fantasy XV (2016)

Final Fantasy XV may not have been able to impress fans of the series with an outstanding story, but it certainly became a demonstration of the possibilities of modern technology. In addition, Square Enix managed to create a huge, almost seamless world with a wide variety of landscapes. If the game comes out on PC, it may well become a new testing ground for powerful computers.

Uncharted 4 (2016)

Exclusive to the PlayStation 4, a project with a huge budget, thanks to which the developers managed to recreate landscapes that reality itself would envy. In Uncharted 4, you can literally dive into the clear waters of the Maldivian beaches. Feelings are similar.

Hello everyone. For you, I have selected the top 16 most beautiful games on PC, with beautiful and atmospheric graphics and with an amazing world.

Bioshock Series

Release date: 2007-2013

The games in the Bioshock series are sci-fi first-person shooters with RPG elements. The series is the spiritual heir to System Shock and draws many gameplay elements from there, but is not connected to it in a plot. All three parts of Bioshock were created on the improved Unreal Engine 3, which even by today's standards (and the first part of the series was released almost 10 years ago) produces very solid graphics. The main difference of all games is also the atmosphere. In the first two parts we explore the underwater world. The Infinite Flying City

The gameplay in all parts of Bioshock is strongly "involved" in the use of the so-called "Plasmids", with the help of which the hero can receive certain superpowers (telekinesis, electric shock, etc.). There are also RPG-like improvements, both to the character's abilities and to his weapons. In terms of graphics, all parts of the game look very nice, and last but not least, the peculiar style of the world plays here.

Crysis Series

Release date: 2007-2013

Genre: first person shooter

Sci-fi first-person shooters with incredibly beautiful graphics, in which the main characters in special exosuits fight both humans and aliens. All parts of the series are made in the style of the so-called "Sandbox", when the player himself can choose where to go or who to attack. The plot here is completely linear.

The very first Crysis actually made a revolution in graphics (in order for the game to go “at maximum speed” it required very powerful hardware with Windows Vista installed on it), while the third part, in which the developers used their new CryEngine 3 engine, looks even more chic and effortlessly displays the latest graphic effects on the screen.

Dear Esther

Release date: 2012

Game only for PlayStation 3 and 4 platforms

One of us- Incredibly beautiful and atmospheric action-adventure game with elements of stealth and survival horror. According to the plot, the cordyceps fungus dangerously mutated and infected most of humanity, turning it into some kind of zombie. In the center of the story is the smuggler Joel and the girl Ellie, who must cross the continent, constantly encountering both the victims of the epidemic and no less dangerous marauders, bandits, cannibals, etc.

The game is notable for its high complexity and traditional for the survival horror genre lack of ammunition. Often it is generally better to avoid meeting with enemies than to go ahead. The project received a lot of positive reviews, and most recently it was announced about the forthcoming continuation. The largest resources and publications put the maximum marks on the game. Most critics agreed that projects of this level come out very, very rarely, which means that it is definitely worth playing.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

Release date: 2014

Games of the quest genre today do not enjoy the popularity that they had before, however, even now worthy, atmospheric and incredibly beautiful projects come out among them. These projects include The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, the plot of which tells about the adventures of a private detective with mystical abilities who went in search of a missing boy.

The investigation of our protagonist leads him to a town called "Valley of the Red Creek", in which some kind of devilry is going on. Actually, this is what you have to figure out. The game boasts very beautiful graphics and a completely open world, which (with rare artificial restrictions) can be traveled. The game does not lead you by the hand, but offers you to explore the world on your own and solve the puzzles that arise. Explore the crime scenes, make a chronology of events and finally figure out what is happening in this small remote town.

Never Alone

An incredibly stylish and atmospheric indie puzzle platformer game designed for both one and two players. The game features two characters - a girl and a polar fox, between which you can switch at any time. Together, the heroes overcome obstacles and solve puzzles, while each of the characters has their own unique abilities and skills.

Get ready to visit the dangerous locations of the Arctic - from the tundra to the mysterious forest. Meet blizzards, stormy winds and deceptive mountains, as well as representatives of Iñupiat folklore: the Killer, little men, helper spirits, etc. independent passage, the second player can join you at any time.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Release date: 2015

Another game from the Tomb Raider series, in which the main character goes to Siberia, where she will have to fight members of the secret Trinity order, as well as various wild animals, and find a valuable artifact. In terms of gameplay, the game copies the previous part of the series, but at the same time the technical component has been significantly improved (for example, the animation has been redesigned, becoming even smoother and more realistic).

In addition to acrobatics and battles, the game has many puzzles that differ in their complexity. In addition, there are elements of survival here, in particular, Lara will constantly have to extract various resources for herself and create new equipment. Many puzzles are multi-stage, often based on the use of physics. Some of the puzzles exactly copy the tasks from the previous parts (a kind of tribute to classic games Tomb Raider).

Ori and the Blind Forest

Release date: 2015

Incredibly colorful indie platformer released on the free Unity engine. Under the control of the player gets Ori - a fabulous snow-white creature resembling a cross between a fox, a squirrel and a wild cat. You can also play as Sein, the guardian spirit that constantly revolves around Ori. And if Ori initially only knows how to jump (and later learn to climb walls, soar in the air and dive under water), then Sein is able to attack enemies with the help of the so-called "spiritual flame charges".

Game locations are various parts of the forest in which the player can go wherever he wants. However, if a certain area has not yet been opened, then the player will not be able to go there. Interestingly, there is no training or tutorial in the game, so you will have to figure everything out on your own (when Ori finds Sein, you can get some hints from him).

Just Cause 3

Release date: 2015

An excellent third-person action game with beautiful graphics and a completely open world, in which the player controls Rico Rodriguez, an agent who must confront the dictator General Sebastiano di Ravello. In fact, the game uses all the successful gameplay developments from the previous parts, significantly improving their mechanics and implementation. Creating chaos on a fictional island has become much more interesting and fun.

Actually, for the wide possibilities for creating chaos, many critics gave this project high marks. Among the negative points, poor optimization and a number of technical problems were noted, which, however, were fixed by patches. It is also worth noting the destructibility of objects. The main character can not only destroy people and equipment and houses, but also, for example, bridges or statues.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Release date: 2015

An exciting action game with excellent graphics and a completely open world. The game tells about the events that took place in the Stone Age, and main character- a prehistoric hunter named Takkar, whose tribe was destroyed. Now our protagonist travels across the Urus country, hoping to avenge his people and find a new home.

The game lacks the usual weapons and vehicles. Since the action of the game takes place in prehistoric names, spears, clubs, bows, etc. will be available to us, which, moreover, we also need to craft on our own, using improvised materials for this. There is also the possibility of taming wild animals, which can both attack the enemy and play the role of a scout. It is also worth noting that all the dialogues are written in a primitive language, which can only be understood with the help of subtitles. This is done to immerse players more in what is happening on the screen.

Quantum Break

Release date: 2016

Genre: third person shooter,

An original first-person shooter whose gameplay is based on time manipulation. According to the plot, in the fictional American University of Riverport, an experiment was conducted with time, which ended extremely unsuccessfully. As a result, the main characters of the game discovered superpowers in themselves (for example, our main protagonist Jack Johnson learned to stop time).

To the plot, and especially to time travel, the developers approached the most responsibly, hiring a consultant from CERN, who explained to them some aspects of classical and quantum physics. In general, the project was received very warmly. The game has excellent graphics, and everything that happens on the screen is very cinematic.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Release date: 2016

Genre: first person shooter,

A first-person cyberpunk action RPG with elements of stealth, which is a continuation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution (two years have passed since the events of the original game). In general, the game uses all the same mechanics as in the previous part, and the real changes have only affected the combat system, which now has an automatically replenished energy scale (before, you had to look for energy reserves).

In general, Mankind Divided is a kind of "work on the mistakes" made in the last part of the game. So, for example, if in Human Revolution bosses could only be killed, then in this part it became possible to pass them unnoticed. Graphically, the game looks very bright. The palette is dominated by black and gold colors. The environment is very elaborate and detailed.

Watch Dogs 2

Release date: 2016

Genre: stealth action, open world

An action-adventure game with cutting-edge graphics and a fully open world game about break-ins and hacking activities in San Francisco. According to the plot, the main character Marcus Holloway, who arrived in San Francisco, teams up with like-minded people from the DedSec group to confront greedy corporations and their puppets in high-ranking positions.

Unlike the previous part, the game contains many gameplay innovations. So, for example, the hacking system has been updated, new high-tech gadgets have appeared, and parkour has also been significantly improved. The project turned out head and shoulders above its predecessor, largely due to the impressive work on the bugs. Many publications that gave Watch Dogs high marks noted that this was exactly what the first part should have been.

Beautiful online games

Black Desert

Release date: 2014

Genre: MMORPG, open world, beautiful graphics

High-quality MMORPG with incredibly beautiful graphics, as well as a full-fledged implementation of the change of time of day, dynamic weather (not tied to a specific location) and many other features. The game world is large and seamless, and its design is made in the spirit of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. There are many races and classes, and the leveling of characters is not limited in any way. Those. Literally, there is no maximum character level in the game!

PLAY

The combat system here requires special attention. In particular, it does not use auto-selection of the enemy, in addition, players must independently dodge enemy attacks or press the key responsible for blocking damage. In general, most of the skills are tied to the keyboard keys, so in battles it is often the player's skill that decides, and not his leveling.

Royal Quest

Release date: 2012

MMORPG game from the creators of "Space Rangers" and "Legend of the Knight" features an exciting gameplay and nice (albeit not the most advanced in technical terms) animated graphics. The game takes place in a world where magic, technology and alchemy are closely intertwined, but this world is in danger and only we can save it!

PLAY

The game has four starting classes, quite deep customization appearance character, as well as the ability to choose one of two specializations for your class at later levels of the game. The gameplay here is based on completing quests, killing monsters, exploring dungeons and other activities traditional for the genre. However, despite some secondary nature, the game is able to captivate, especially since the developer's proprietary humor is present here in abundance.

Blade and Soul

Release date: 2013

Genre: MMORPG

A fantasy MMORPG with nice graphics and features traditional for the genre. The game has four races, 10 classes, many quests, crafting, resource extraction and other activities. The developers made the main emphasis on the eSports component, which is developed here at the proper level. At the same time, the battles between the players are not “crowd-on-crowd”, but in 3v3 and 1v1 formats.

PLAY

It is interesting that initially the project received mixed reviews from critics, who noted not the best graphical part of it and some secondariness (i.e. the game could not surprise the players with anything), but the developers finalized the engine, improved the graphics and relied on PvP battles for quite real and pretty good cash prizes. Needless to say, the game instantly "shot" and even now there is a lot of activity on the project's servers!

I would like to appeal to readers. What other beautiful games do you think are available for PC? Write in the comments. It will be interesting to know what I missed.
